Kristin is an accomplished private equity investor and advisor with more than 13 years experience investing across private equity funds, secondary transactions, and co-investments. Prior to forming Kraken Capital, Kristin was a Managing Director with StepStone Group, a global private markets investor and advisor overseeing $135 billion of capital allocations with $35 billion of assets under management. Kristin joined StepStone shortly after its inception in mid-2008 and helped grow the firm into a leading global private markets investor. During her tenure at StepStone, Kristin focused on US Middle Market Buyout and Energy investments; was involved in capital raising, and sourcing and conducting due diligence on prospective investments for StepStone's secondary program; managed large institutional limited partner client relationships; and co-headed recruiting, staffing, and training for StepStone's investment team in New York. Prior to StepStone, Kristin worked on the private equity investment team at Fort Washington Capital Partners Group. Kristin also worked in public equities research and options trading at Schaeffer's Investment Research and in public equities research at Birinyi Associates.
Kristin skipped her senior year of high school at Harbor Creek High School to play collegiate soccer at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Kristin won two NCAA National Championships and four Atlantic Coast Conference titles playing soccer for UNC. She was named an Academic All-American in 2001 and drafted to play professional soccer by the Atlanta Beat of the WUSA in 2002. Kristin graduated Phi Beta Kappa from UNC with an Economics Major and Business Administration Minor. Kristin coached collegiate soccer at Harvard and also coached with the Cincinnati Classics Hammer.
Kristin is a firm believer in diversity of experience and has traveled to more than 40 countries. Kristin is a pod leader for the Parity Professional Program (P3) in 2019 and a member of PE WIN. Kristin is an avid photographer, squash player, a PADI-certified Advance Open Water scuba diver, and works out with #TheProgram in New York.
